    Default Richard Out as DC

It's been reported the Kris Richard has been let go along with Bevell. Cable next or will Cable be promoted to OC?

Pete probably let Richard go, because he dialed up 5 blitzes this year. That's 5 too many for Pete's liking.

After firing offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell on Tuesday, Seahawkshead coach Pete Carroll is reportedly also open to a change at defensive coordinator. Several sources are reporting that the team is willing to let Kris Richard leave for a similar position at another team if one becomes available. The tone of the news seems to imply that a change could be made at defensive coordinator regardless.
just to be clear there is a bit of difference between the reported position of the hawks on Richard that is stated in the paragraph and the more sensational (for now) claim in the article headline.

No report that Richard is out officially. Though it looks like the writing is on the wall.

There are several head coaches that are also OCs. I've never heard of a head coach also being a DC. Why is that? It's Pete's defense...

Kris Richard is an excellent secondary coach and it sucks to lose him in that role. I think he'll bounce back ok.

Will be interesting who they grab as LB coach

I guess I didn't notice as much but I didn't feel Richard was doing particurally bad as DC. Like he didnt' have a noticable impact like Quinn did but he wasn't terrible either.

The past few years the D hasnít been as impactful, and has given up more big plays. Yes they have had some injuries but still, the play has declined a bit. Hopefully Norton can turn that around
